Fall '23
KEVIN A. RISNER
We had it. We did
at one time, before
nature fell, with her
shadows dropping down
across our path. We
saw the farthest we
could to the east, an
empty liquid world
that soon would rise up
to eat the hotels that
ate the forests. When
dinner was finished,
dessert was a string
of palms always in
the way. They are all
always in the damn way.
